In September 2020 we presented two offers featuring the Tiny Dungeon and TinyD6 RPG lines from Gallant Knight Games. The revived July 2019 Tiny Dungeon Bundle had the streamlined dungeon-crawling FRPG, along with Tiny Wastelands, Beach Patrol, and other games using the minimalist TinyD6 rules. And TinyD6 Worlds was a new standalone companion offer with Supers, Gunslingers, Pirates, Gods, and more.

TINY DUNGEON [from July 2019]

Funded in a September 2017 Kickstarter campaign, Tiny Dungeon uses the TinyD6 mechanics for a fast-playing fantasy game that’s easy to learn and teach, and ideal for convention games, one-shots, and novice roleplayers. Player characters — heroic adventurers, daring treasure hunters, imperious magicians, and more — have statistics that fit on a notecard. YouTuber Dave Thaumavore has a good Tiny Dungeon rules summary.

This revived July 2019 Tiny Dungeon Bundle had the core Tiny Dungeon rulebook along with Wastelands, Frontiers, and Mecha (tiny, uhhh, giant robots?) plus a tiny boatload of freebies. Once again there were five titles in this revival’s Tiny Dungeon Collection (retail value $37) as DRM-free .PDF ebooks, including the complete Tiny Dungeon 2E core rulebook, plus the free quickstart set Mad Magicks of the Turned God and the Quickstart Characters; the Tiny Dungeon Player’s Guide; the print-and-cut Bestiary Deck and Treasure Deck; and the GM Screen.

Those who paid more than this revival’s threshold (average) price also got this offer’s entire Tiny Universe Collection with seven more games and supplements worth an additional $61, including the standalone RPG of streamlined post-apocalypse action Tiny Wastelands Revised Edition (plus its Enclave Deck and GM Screen); Tiny Frontiers (plus its Rules Expansion); the Frontiers supplement Mecha and Monsters (plus its Pregen Cards); and, for summer-season lifeguarding action and bay-watching glamour, Beach Patrol (plus its free set of Quickstart Characters).

TINYD6 WORLDS [all-new]

Gallant Knight founder and lead designer Alan Bahr has adapted the TinyD6 rules for standalone games in other genres. The July 2018 Tiny Supers Kickstarter was the company’s most successful crowdfunding campaign since Tiny Dungeon 2E. This all-new TinyD6 Worlds offer presented Supers as well as Pirates and Gunslingers, along with “micro-expansions” that add divine beings and zombies to any TinyD6 game.

(These titles stand alone. You mostly don’t also need the books in the revived Tiny Dungeon Bundle, except this offer’s Destiny of Tides campaign setting requires the Tiny Dungeon rules in the other bundle.)

There were three titles in this offer’s Starter Collection (retail value $37), including Tiny Gods, the Tiny Dungeon undersea campaign setting Destiny of Tides, and a giant collection of articles, the TinyZine Compendium 2018.

This offer’s Bonus Collection added seven more games and supplements worth an additional $46, including Tiny Supers; Tiny Gunslingers (plus its Poker Deck and a collection of varmints, Bounties); Tiny Pirates (and its Duel Deck); and Tiny Living Dead.

Ten percent of each payment (after gateway fees) went to these two Tiny offers’ pandemic-related charity, Direct Relief. Direct Relief sends protective gear and critical care medications to health workers, with emergency deliveries to medical facilities across the US and to regional response agencies across the world.
