In November 2023 we presented the new Shadowrun 3E Megabundle with a giant data-drop of .PDF ebooks for the 1998 Third Edition of Shadowrun, the cyberpunk-fantasy RPG from Catalyst Game Labs. Shadowrun Third Edition is widely admired as the last version of the original rules before the 2005 Fourth Edition took the game in new directions. This offer includes the complete Shadowrun 3E rulebook plus two dozen supplements, play aids, and adventures – thousands of pages of vintage SR3 game material, enough to keep your runners busy for years.
There were eleven complete titles in our SR3 Core Collection (retail value $91) as DRM-free .PDF ebooks, including the complete Shadowrun 3E corebook, the introductory adventure First Run, the Shadowrun Companion 3E, and the full range of core supplements that fill out each edition of Shadowrun: the cyberware book (Man & Machine), weapons and equipment (Cannon Companion), Magic in the Shadows, Matrix, and Rigger 3 Revised. You also get State of the Art: 2063 and 2064, the Character Dossier, and the free SR3E GM Screen and Critters insert booklet.
The Setting Collection added fifteen more titles worth an additional $118, including the Sprawl Survival Guide, New Seattle, Shadows of North America, Shadows of Asia, Paranormal Animals of Europe, Aztlan, Corporate Shadowfiles, Corporate Download, Mr. Johnson’s Little Black Book, Loose Alliances, and five SR3 adventures: Brainscan, Corporate Punishment, Renraku Arcology: Shutdown, System Failure, and Year of the Comet.
[After launch we learned that three titles in this offer – Aztlan, Corporate Shadowfiles, and Paranormal Animals of Europe – are actually for Shadowrun Second Edition, not 3E. Sorry! What’s worse, we’d already presented all three supplements in last year’s Shadowrun 1E-2E Megabundle. Sheesh! But the background information in these books is useful for any edition.]Almost all the titles we presented in this Shadowrun 3E Megabundle are pristine, crisp .PDFs generated from the digital files. Eight older titles are image scans of the original 1990s hardcopies with OCR applied: Brainscan, Corporate Download, Corporate Shadowfiles, Critters, First Run, Paranormal Animals of Europe, Renraku Arcology Shutdown, and Rigger 3 Revised. All of these are good-quality scans, though Corporate Download, Paranormal Animals, Renraku, and Rigger 3 are a little light and sometimes blurry. The Critters OCRed text is perfectly readable, but the typeface is Arial.
Ten percent of each payment (after gateway fees) went to this Shadowrun 3E Megabundle’s designated charity, the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The EFF fights for freedom in the courts, bringing and defending lawsuits to beat back bad legislation.
