In April 2020 we presented the Dungeons on Demand Bundle, featuring instant 5E dungeon adventures from Dan Coleman Productions. Dungeons on Demand are instant ready-to-play dungeons you can drop into any Fifth Edition campaign. DoD creator Dan Coleman, a graphic designer and longtime DM, exemplifies the solo entrepreneurial path made possible for modern RPG designers through crowdfunding, the Open Game License, mapping and publishing software, and DriveThruRPG. He self-funded the entire Dungeons on Demand product line through three years of Kickstarter campaigns, March 2015 through June 2017, and now he has his own long backlist of titles. It’s a sea-change from the starveling work-for-hire subsistence life of the 1980s and ’90s freelancer. [Wistful sigh.]
Each Dungeon on Demand is designed for four- or five-player parties of specified levels and for one or two sessions of play. Each full-color .PDF includes a backstory, adventure hooks, hand-drawn maps, traps, puzzles, full breakdowns of each encounter, and an appendix of unique monsters and treasure. Encounter descriptions includes a combat difficulty gauge that lets you quickly determine their challenge for an appropriate party, from 1 star (very easy) to 5 stars (deadly). Each description is annotated with core rulebook page references and full descriptions of custom monsters.
The nearly two dozen modules in this comprehensive offer took characters of all levels to adventure sites like a live volcano, a lost civilization’s holy temples, a wizard’s hidden study, the halls of giants, the lairs of dragons, and dozens more. By the time the party finishes exploring a dungeon, each character will gain enough experience to gain a level. With the demanding dungeons in this comprehensive offer, you could take a party from 1st to 20th level.
There were fourteen adventures in our Starter Collection (retail value $42) as DRM-free .PDF ebooks, including all six modules in the Dungeons on Demand Low-Level Adventure Pack (for character levels 1-6), the seven scenarios in Mid-Level Adventures (levels 7-13), and a short adventure for 3rd-level characters, Bad Apples.
Those who paid more than the threshold (average) price also got our entire Bonus Collection with eight more titles worth an additional $44, including all seven High-Level Adventures (covering levels 14-20); the 170-page 5E campaign setting Ebonclad (plus its free add-ons Gallery of Thieves and Sites of Kintalla); and a diverse collection of monsters, spells, creatures, locations, and more in the Pages from the Lost Grimoire.
Ten percent of each payment (after gateway fees) went to this offer’s designated charity, Save the Children, which provided much-needed protective equipment and supplies to frontline health staff fighting the pandemic worldwide.
