In November 2025, by popular demand, we resurrected (for a third time!) the January 2014 Over the Edge 2E Bundle featuring the 1997 Second Edition of Over the Edge, the acclaimed Atlas Games RPG of surreal danger on the conspiracy-ridden, reality-bending Mediterranean island of Al Amarja. A pivot-point in roleplaying history from designers Jonathan Tweet (D&D 3.0, 13th Age, Ars Magica) and Robin D. Laws (the GUMSHOE system, Hillfolk, Feng Shui), Over the Edge showed what an atmospheric setting could achieve. OTE takes as its foundational texts not Tolkien, Lieber, and Robert E. Howard, but William Burroughs, Philip K. Dick, and Thomas Pynchon. Devious secret agents, subtle alien invasions, ancient conspiracies, the secret of human nature, drooling psychopaths, weird science – these surreal undercurrents can carry you where you’ve never been before.

We brought back the OTE 2E offer on short notice. In forum discussions about the Over the Edge Third Edition offer running at the time, purchasers of the 2E Bundle praised the quality of the Second Edition setting and source material – and a few customers lamented that the 2E titles weren’t in their DriveThruRPG Libraries. In those primordial years of 2014-2017, Atlas Games hadn’t posted the OTE line (nor Ars Magica) on DriveThru. Since then, Al Amarja’s operatives have fully infiltrated DTRPG. This 2E revival expanded players’ horizon of operations, and also gave us an opportunity to finally add the titles from its three previous runs to our customers’ DTRPG Libraries. This revived January 2014 Over the Edge 2E Bundle once again gave you everything you need for your own OTE 2E campaign for an unbeatable bargain price. There were four titles in this revived offer’s Starter Collection (retail value $48) as DRM-free .PDF ebooks, including the complete Over the Edge Second Edition rulebook, the OTE 2E Players’ Survival Guide, the location sourcebook At Your Service, and the thrilling novel of Al Amarja intrigue by Robin D. Laws, Pierced Heart.

Those who paid more than the threshold (average) price also got this revival’s entire Bonus Collection with seven more titles worth an additional $50, including one of the most admired sourcebooks ever published for any RPG:

  • Weather the Cuckoo Likes: This landmark early sourcebook about the Cut-Ups conspiracy, marked by terrific writing and inventive new rules, put Robin D. Laws on the gaming map.
  • Wildest Dreams: This sourcebook about the supernatural drug Nightmare was the first collaboration by the designers who later created Unknown Armies.
  • Friend or Foe?: Thirty-four Game Moderator characters who would never, ever backstab you. How could you even think that?
  • Cloaks: Jonathan Tweet’s sourcebook about Al Amarjan secret agents – being hunted by them, and being them.
  • Forgotten Lives: Six OtE scenarios ideal for launching or rounding out your Second Edition campaign.
  • Unauthorized Broadcast: Robin D. Laws returns with this short scenario about an outlaw drug that broadcasts your inmost thoughts.
  • WaRPed Adventures: Invasion: A far-flung adventure of psychic dislocation by Robin D. Laws using the open-license WaRP System derived from Over the Edge 2E.
